Professional Interests

Emanuel Boutzoukas, BS, is a doctoral student at the University of Florida (UF) in the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology, under the mentorship of Dr. Adam Woods.  He graduated from Florida State University (FSU) in 2016 where he received Honors Distinction in Psychology, with minors in Biology and Computer Science. He then worked for two years as a Research Coordinator at Children’s National Medical Center (CNMC) in Washington, D.C., under the supervision of Dr. Madison Berl, ABPP-CN, in the Comprehensive Pediatric Epilepsy Program. In this position, he administered neuropsychological testing and neuroimaging (structural and functional magnetic resonance imaging) protocols to pediatric epilepsy patients and typically developing volunteers, assisted in data collection and developed research projects.

Research Focus

Emanuel’s research focuses on counteracting cognitive declines in aging using non-invasive brain stimulation paired with cognitive training. He aims to use multimodal neuroimaging and neuropsychological testing to characterize mechanisms of cognitive improvement in older adults.
